Hauls

Hi, this is my first carboot sale haul. I nearly weekly attend the Sunday carboot sale at Bridgemary school, Gosport and the Wednesday carboot on the beach at Hayling Island. Here I bought and hauled many cheap and affordable books and DVDs this haul will show the large selection I payed for at the last carboot sales this included many dvds and a few popular books. I am not using this blog to brag but to show people dvds and books that they may have not heard about, so here it goes like last time we will start with the DVD's :
As you can see I went crazy with DVD's but for the cheap priced I got them for I couldn't resist. Just to warn you now there is over 20 dvds in this haul so be prepared to skim and skan so lets start at the top and work out way day the first dvd is :

Only You

This is a very old rom- com starring the one and only Robert Downey JR. The film follows the lead character tracing a lead on a man who she thinks is her destined husband  but instead stumbles upon a romantic adventure set in no other location then the oh so romantic Italy. I have recently seen this film and fell in love with the amount cheesy cliches , if you dont like unrealistic romance or sopeyness this film is not for you.Overall this film is great for that girls night in and to me is a all time classic for a girls night in.

The goonies

Everybody has heard of this cult classic if you havent where have you been living. I picked this up for 20p as it was missing my collection. I have only seen the movie twice and the last time being over 3 years ago so Im defiantly going to watch this soon. If you have been living under that rock the goonies is the kids version of Indiana jones as a group of medling goes on an adventure of epic proportions. If you havnt seen this film got to your local store now and purchase it , right now !!!

X-men origins: Wolverine

This is the first of two xmen films I bought to complete the collection of all the xmen films. This tells the story of wolverine and how he handled his mutation at the beginning. I have had this on my recordings for a long time but have not sat down and watched the whole film. Although I have heard many bad reviews Im going to see what I think.

X-Men : First class

This is a prequel to the xmen series and Is my favorite one of the lot. The characters are played so perfectly by names such James Mcavoy and Micheal Fastbender. You may be thinking if it is one of your favourites why haven't you bought it before now and the truth iv had it on my recorded programmes for so long so didnt see a reason to buy it but only did when I found out it was just 10p it was a bargain especially for a  dvd that is as good as this one.

The road to El Dorado

The Road to El Dorado (2000) Poster
This was a bit of an impulse buy the only reason I bought this DVD is because once I a quote from it on tumblr that was pretty funny. I know absolutely nothing about this film at the moment accept that its an animated film about two guys who are looking for the city of gold. I would love to know if anyone enjoyed this film themselves and maybe some more information on the plot line.

Garden state

Garden State (2004) Poster
I have been meaning to see this movie for ages as it stars the great Zach Braff and I thought there was no better time as the trailer for his new film wish I was here has just been released at it looks amazing. This film is in a slightly indie style and has one many awards for it comedic quality. This is film is perfect if you like romances that just warm your heart without the ridiculous unrealistic gestures. I also greatly enjoyed the award winning cinematography and soundtrack.

Cocktail

Cocktail (1988) Poster
I did not want to pick this up at first its not the typical film I would go for but I have a friend who loves it and anything else Tom Cruise is in so thought id watch it to know what the hell shes talking about. The film is about a young bartender who falls in love whilst in Jamaica. To me this sounds pretty dull but im going to watch it with an open mind.

  Chasing Liberty

Chasing Liberty (2004) Poster
I have wanted this film for ages after seeing first daughter i loved the whole concept and plot and this was very similair. The whole movie was only made better by the beautiful locations such as Italy and actor such as Mattew Goode who I couldnt believe was the same guy from one of the best rom-coms leap year. This overall is a relaxing watch for every occasion and I recommend it for teens who like rom-coms that are a little bit simpler.

The Full Monty

 The Full Monty (1997) Poster

This is a classic amongst my friends but I have never seen so much as a trailer for it so have very little knowledge on the film apart from the many renactment seen on Tv shows and various other places. It tells the tale of steel workers who become a male striptease act. This to me is ominous so I dont know when ill get around to watching this one.

Sunshine cleaning

Sunshine Cleaning (2008) Poster
I bought this film as a bit of a joke with a friend of mine as she is studying to do crime scene investigation and said that she can find no films connecting to the subject where as for my study( journalism) there are many. I have seen the trailer for this and it does look interesting its about two sisters who start cleaning up old crime scenes after the investigation has been completed it has a very indie look to it in the trailer that I saw but does look like it could be a good watch.

Pocahontas

Pocahontas (1995) Poster
Now everyone knows about this classic disney princess film but can you believe it that I have never seen this film all the way through. I have been trying to collect disney films recently to complete my animation colection but disney films tend to be the most expensive so when I saw this film for 50p and knew that its one of the films that I havnt seen yet I couldnt resist picking it up. If you do not know what its about you have been living under a rock for the last god knows how many years.

Annie

Annie (1982) Poster
This is a classic musical and that must mean I've watched the hell out of it because as a child I was babysat by my nan that was addicted to watching old musicals till she knew every word. Recently I have been buying up all the musicals that she used to make me watch as I discoverer that they are my favourite movies to.

Duets

Duets (2000) Poster
I know many would never watch this film because it stars Gwyneth Paltrow but the plot sounds very interesting to me. It follows many plot lines connected by the main theme of Karaoke. I love films that have multiple plotlines that connect in weird and wonderful ways.

Prom

Prom (2011) Poster
I know im a little too old to still be watching these disney tries at a teen film but I think this one is slightly better then the rest. I was going to buy this last year before my own prom but put it of as at the time it was a new release and I didnt want to pay the price. This film does still interest me though as the characters are mildly interesting but overall I think this was a case of the trailer shows all the best moments and gives you a false view into the film itself .

Mission without permission ( Catch that kid)

Catch That Kid (2004) Poster
This DVD was sort of a freebie as it was thrown in with a few other dvds I bought . I have no clue what it is about accept that it star Kristen Stewart at that no one has heard of it. I dont have high expectations for this extremely cheap looking film but will have an open mind till watching it.

A lot like love

A Lot Like Love (2005) Poster

I have seen this film before its a long running tale that shows you that people who typically think they dont belong together go together the most. I love how this tale is not the typical they fall in love and live happily ever after there is alot more real life installed into it.

The women

The Women (2008) Poster
I kept seeing the trailer for this film on most of my DVDs so decided that ill pick it up on the carboot. To me it sounds like one of those women impowering films that you typically watch on a girls night it. I dont know much about the storyline from the trailers that I've seen apart from the fact its about cheating and how women support each other at these harder times.

Lord of the rings : Fellowship of the ring

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) Poster
Believe it or not I have never watched any of the Lord of the rings films or any of those connected to them. I decide to pick this up after  many have said that im missing out and they strongly think that id enjoy these films so now im ready to give them a go.

The brothers Grimm

The Brothers Grimm (2005) Poster
I have never heard of this film before i picked it up to me the main attraction was Heath Ledger as he is one of my favorite actors of all time. I know this film is about the Grimm brothers and how they are connected to fairy tales but in an unexpected way. I cant wait to see this as it just sounds so interesting.

Hook

Hook (1991) Poster
This is a childhood classic I was so suprised when looking over my collection seeing that I didnt have a copy of it. Its about peter pan but he joins the real world grows up then returns to neverland but he cant remember alot of what happened before it just is the perfect adventure film.

Supernatural: The complete first season

Supernatural (2005) Poster

I call this one of the bargains of the day i paid just two pound for the complete season in good condition.I have not watched alot of this series I did borrow the box set before from a friend but only managed to watch the first couple of episodes before handing it back. I see alot of the posts on tumblr and the thought the idea of two brothers killing supernatural being just sounds awesome. Cant wait to binge watch the whole season.

Now for the books , there is not as many of these but I did get a few really good deals.

The first two books fit together to make the first part of :

The hunger games By Suzanne Collins

I bought the two books separately at 50p each. I have read this series before but from the libary a very long time ago I also recently watched the movie versions of these two books and want to reread the books to compare them to the films. If you havent heard of the hunger games before it is about a game held with players from each district that compete to there is only one winner they mostly follow the lead charcter Katniss and her journey through the games.

Hush Hush By Becca Fitzpatrick

6339664

I kept hearing about this book in book hauls on booktube videos. I dont know that much about it accept that its kind of a twisted romance I can't really gather that much from looking on the book or on the goodreads page so Im kinda going to read this book blind of background information but sometimes this is the best way to read a book.

The maze runner By James Dashner

6186357
This book is soon to be a film and has alot of buzz around it at the moment I kind of wannt to see that film as the trailer is really intriguing and I would love to finish the book before seeing the movie. Its similair to the hunger games in the aspect that a person is chosen to complete the task of running through the maze and they must survive. Overall its not my typical read but will be a change from the usual books.

City of Bones by Cassandra Claire

256683
At the car boot I spotted this very battered old version of city of bones from a mile away for the price of just 10p. I have recently puchased the film and found the whole world amazing so decided that to understand it fully I will read the books and actually cant wait to finish them. Its about a teenage girl who finds out about a group called the shadowhunters and it follows her discoverys.

Before I fall By Lauren Oliver

Before I Fall

I bought this book kind of randomly after reading a short synopsis on amazon it seemed intriguing and just not my typical read.It has a groundhog day feel as she relives the day she dies to slowly make changes to the day to descover something greater. I think this is anouther book that I will read with an open mind.

That was my carboot sale haul, I hope you enjoyed reading this very long haul post. I am considering putting up video blog versions of these blogs if this is something you think would be better please comment bellow or tweet to @werty6. I would love to see what you maybe my only reader thinks of the books and dvd's shown here . Plus please feel free to wonder around this blog and check other pages each has at least one blog post and hopefully this will expand over time. Thanks for reading.

Hi, this is going to be my first haul where i'm going to show the books and DVDs I received on my birthday which has only just passed.I just want to say now that I am not trying to brag or show off I simply want o write this blog because I want to show people books or DVDs that you might have heard of plus these blog of vlog post are usualy my favourites. Well here it goes let's start with the DVD's :

I received 8 DVD's in total for my birthday. I am going to list them one by one with a small description.

The Hunger games : catching fire

My brother bought me this DVD simply because he wanted to watch it. It is the second of the very popular Hunger games film series. This time Katniss volunteers to compete in the hunger games again but this time against well trained past winning contestants. This movie was more complex than the first and did not feel as much like a feature film but does keep the vibe from the books.

Are you ready for love?

This was one of the many DVDs that was bought straight from my amazon wish list. This is a small cheaply made movie with a lot of cheesy moments. The film follows two american book writter's on their experiment to find three british people true love in three days. This movie is not for everyone as at times it can seem plastic and annoying but I enjoy it because of this. It stars some recognisable faces like the comedian Ed Byrne and Denise Van Outen.

The Sapphires

This film I believe is popular with many people and has an amazing charm that I have not felt in a musical film since August rush. It is based on a real story of a group of Australian aborginies who get signed by a drunken manager played by the brillian Chris O'Downd. They follow there dreams of performing by going to Viatnam in the midst of the war to entertain troups from here the story grows. This was one of the DVD's in the UK that had so much hype that barely any went to see it although it hit big time in Australia.

The Decoy Bride

This is a must for and David Tennant fan, he leads this film with his usual charm and humor. This film reminds me soo much of Bridget Jones's diary although the story line is nothing alike the humor and british side to it are just the same. Its a rom com for those who may not typically like rom coms. The plot follows a celebrity couple trying to get married in peice so travel to a distant island and are still found so choose to use a decoy bride which actually ends up accidentally being married to the groom. This is a great film that really goes unrecognized  and I would recommend it to everyone.

Just go with it

The trailer for this film really made me want to see it and to be honest I was slightly let down by the film itself. They did there usual trick on this one by using what I think are the best scenes in the trailer although the plot line is semi intresting it did not live up to my expectations. It stars two actors who throughout the film have chemistry and don't depending on the scene. I think overall this film is good to have on in the background but did not fully entertain. Its about two co workers who try to convince people that the are married for various reasons and end up going on holiday together.

 Extremely loud and Incredibly close

I have not yet watched this film about a child who has lost his father in the 9/11 attack's. I typically love films that are set around historic events and I don't think this one is going to be any different. I would like to read the book before watching this film but I don't think that will happen in the end. It has a great star studded cast starring people like Tom Hank and Sandra Bullock. It also has won the hearts of many critics so I can't wait to see what I think.

Rango

This film is very random to me I do not know specifically what it is about all I know is that it stars one of my favorite actors Johnny Depp. I know when this first came out it wasn't the most popular film and it didn't take of as expected but I think i'm going to go into this film with a clear mind. The quick description on the back does not tell me much except that its a western styled film.

The vampire diaries: season one

This is the only season DVD I received in this haul the only reason I have this is because I used to watch the series when it first came out and now have lost track of it. This season set is going to hopefully help me catch up. If you haven't seen the vampire diaries it is based on two brother vampires and a girl to me this is all I can remember clearly so I'm definatly going to marathon the season soon.

Well, there you have it there were the DVD's i received for my birthday. Don't worry if your not into movie here come the books.

Unusually I did not ask or receive many books this birthday so her are the three that I did.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

This is my first Rainbow Rowell book and I have heard nothing but good things about it. Not only did the cover and title instantly pull me in because they are basically everything that I like but the story line seems like its going to be my perfect summer read. Its based on twin sisters who have just faced the fact that they are now too old to do everything together and have started to have their own lives and personalities but Cath is struggling more then her sister Wren the book tell us her coming of age story. There is one great quote on the back cover that I think sums it all "A tale of fanfiction, family and first love".

Jessie loves NYC by Keris Stainton

I know this book is typically aimed at a younger audience then me but I really am interested in this story and how its different from the simlair disney TV series Jessie. I can not find any reviews of this book at the moment. It is about a girl coming into adulthood and she chooses to move to New York to forget her ex and hopefully find true love and it is all about her love life. This is a typically girly book that I would not have read normally but I am interested in the genre.

The gathering dark by Leigh Bardugo

This book was bought for me by mistake as it is just a new name and cover for a book that I have already own called Shadow and Bone. It is the first in the Grisha trilogy and is one of my most favorite books. I am glad that I have this slightly larger copy because mt typical shadow and bone has been well read and beaten. I received shadow and bone before release and loved the tale of this strong girl who did not know her full potential. I don;t think I should say much about the plot line of this one but I do strongly recommend it.

There is was my first haul blog. I'd love to know what you think of the books and DVD's either comment below or tell me at the twitter handle @werty6.
