Book Tags

Here it goes then my entry for this blog and its going to be based on my favourite thing books. I have found a recent tag traveling around book tube, I specifically found my reference at abookaffair (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI0Zi7EtiMY). I just want to say that i am no way responsible for this tag and want all to go to the creater. This tag is simply dedicated to connecting books to the stereotypes of social media networks this will make more sense as I go on. I thought this tag with give you a small glipse of what is to come on this blog so here it goes:

Question 1 : Twitter - What is your favorite shortest book ?

The Tales of Beedle the Bard  by J.K.Rowling

Not only does this book have a great cover but it is small and dainty like the old storybooks I had as a child. I love this short addition to the Harry potter world as it just makes the stories feel just that little bit more realistic. I know there are mixed reactions to the book but I think that this short book is charming and a must read for all Harry Potter lovers.

Question 2 : Facebook- Suggest a book that everyone has pressured you into reading.

The Fault in our stars by John Green

I know I was one of the last people to read this book but I did fall in love with it from the start. The reason I put of reading for so long was because I typically dont go for the love story books as the ones I have read before have been stereotypically boring but this one did captivate me. I would recommend this to everyone and anyone as it is now one of my most favourite books.

Question 3: Tumblr- Find a book that you read before it was hyped.

The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak

This book was actually one of my first YA novels when I was in my last year of primary school I picked it up and have re read a thousand times since. It is the most read book on my shelf and I would recommend it to everyone a thousand times and have because this book emerces you in the story and this has rarely happend to me especially with a historic based book.

Question 4 : Myspace- What book have your read and can't decide if you like or not?

The Virgin suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides

Although I enjoyed the emotions this book portraited this book managed to be both strange and sweet. It also had large confusing gaps in the story only really starting nearly  the end. Overall It kind of lost me because of its complexity, but won me because of its plot.

Question 5: Instagram - What book cover was so beautiful that you had to instagram it.

Reckless by Cornelia Funke

This is the cover that I own I think its mystery and simplicity fit the book perfectly. The whole cover has this magaical shimmer that again is soo like its plot and connects really well this fairy tale re telling. The strong eyes on the front pull you in and the mystical castle on the back makes you read. This book did not take off after Funke's other popular inkheart series but I prefer it.

Question 6: Youtube - Find a book that should be developed into a film or TV series?

The Diamond of Drury lane by Julia Golding

Whilst reading this book I felt like it already was a movie the plot was realistic and dragged you in. The descriptive details in this book was unusual for a children's book but allowed you to see the scene as if you were in the moment. This book would make the perfect adventurous family film.

Question 7 : Goodreads - A book that you would recommend to everyone.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

This book grabbed my attention after I was given it to review before it was published in this country and had to wait ages before I could speak to anyone else that had read the book. After it was published in this country i did recommend it to absolutely everyone of my friends. All I can say is this book is one of the most intriguing reads.

Well there it was one of my first blog posts on this new page, I hope you enjoyed it and would love to here your feedback. What do you think of the books that I have choosen? If you carry on this tag I would love to hear about please comment a link.

Your Sincerly
Sophie :P

I have not been tagged to do this tag but I thought it would be the best way to introduce myself and for you to get to know my reading habits. The original tag is from acbookjunkies.blogspot.co.uk . I advise that you go check them out I loved reading there many reviews. So lets get started with the tag :

1) Do you have a certain place at home for reading ?

I do not have anywhere in particular I read. I do typically read more on the go while travelling or trying to waste time in between classes at college any spot that I think will be long enough to read in so this means that I am often not sitting to read at home although soon I hopefully will be able to as I am currently turning my cuboard into a book nook and a special place to watch films and read books I cant wait till its completed.

2) Bookmark or random bit of paper ?

I currently am using a bookmark more specifically a ticket from platform 9 and 3/4 its my favourite bookmark but typically if I typically pick up a book I will not use a bookmark but rather anything that I can get my hands on this in the past has been many horrid things like lollypop sticks and sweet rapers as long as it does the job it really doesn't matter.

3) Can you stop reading anytime you want or do you have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part etc ?

I tend to stop reading at the beginning of a new chapter this allows me to cut off from the story and not forget where I am within it. I do sometimes get books like the one I'm reading now that is more difficult to stop at a chapter and with these books I really struggle with my self control and tend to do anything to complete that book whether thats stay up all night or forget to do my college work.

4) Do you eat or drink whilst reading ?

I do both this allows me to eat my lunch whilst reading the perfect book. It also saves valuable time and lets me read many more books faster and that means I can move on to the next story. Although I do read or drink at the same I also hate when any crumbs get into the books or even when a book gets the tiniest bit damp.

5) Can you read while listening to music/watching TV?

I can always read a book no matter whats playing I actually prefer to have music on in the background to be able to listen to something then hear the plain blank. It allows me to travel into my little bubble and go to the world into the book. This allows me to familairise myself with the characters and hopefulluy become them. The are other perks such as being able to skip the adverts by reading a short chapter of a book.

6) One book at a time or several at once ?

Definatly one at a time this allows me to fully invest in the charceters and the stories this allows me to feel passionate about the book. I think if i was to read several at once I would lose myself and start to merge the stories and charcters together and imagine stories of my own that is just TOO much confusion.

7) Reading at home or everywhere ?

I read everywhere on the bus, at school or waiting for anything. Reading is the perfect hobby to fill time. I even go early to college just to be able to read at least a chapter before my classes star. i do read at home as well but often my hous is to hetic to concentrate let alone try to grasp a detailed book.

8) Reading aloud or silently in your head ?

It really depends on the book if I am really into the book I will read aloud feeling every word touch my lips and take the concepts in fully even if this means stopping to ask the nearest person what they think. Reading in my head is hard for me I only tend to do it eaither if im in a very public place or am really not interested in the book and cant be bothered to read it fully.

9) Do you read ahead or skip a page ?

I never read ahead I think this will ruin the story for yourself and that only impatient people will read ahead to me its just wrong the aticipation is created with each page and comes to a conc;usion at the ending this is what creates a book who would want to ruin this feeling.

10) Breaking the spine or keeping it new ?

In my opinion a book MUST MUST MUST not be abused so it must not go through damage such as breaking the spine. Don't get me wrong I have broken a book specially in school when it got thrown in the bottom of the bag no matter what. This means that obvious damage was done but as I have grow older I cringe at the sound and look of a broken spine.

11) Do you write in books ?

I do not write in any of my books the only time that I ever dared to was during my GCSEs when the best tip i will give you is to write inkling on the page to remind you of extra information. I did this throughout my exams to all of my books as so much as a symbol can remind you of a bit of important information.

This has been the book junkies book Tag I think this has really let you get to know my reading habits and what I treasure as a book reader.

Yours Sincerely
Sophie :P

I was binge watching book tuber video and happened to start binge watching the unpopular tag videos . i loved how they gave people the chance to speak out about books that everyone can become to sentemental about even though they may not always be the best sort of books to everyone. The original video I could find for this tag was at http://youtube/Nyfgq8HgDcO.

1. A popular book or series that you didn't like.
